چکیده

Context: The accurate determination of working length (WL) has a major impact on the outcome root canal treatment. Aim: aim present clinical study was to compare accuracy using Cone Beam Computed Tomography (CBCT), Periapical radiograph and Electronic apex locator in teeth with periapical lesion. Settings Design: Randomised control trial. Materials Method: This conducted 30 patients an initial diagnosis lesion teeth. involved determined three techniques. In all first detected locator. Secondly, Ingle's method then from CBCT scans. measurements so obtained were tabulated compared statistical analysis. Statistical analysis used: Non-parametric paired T-tests carried out. Results: mean values for WL by electronic locator, radiographs images 20.1833, 20.4667 20.7533 respectively. significant differences found between methods. However, gave more precise readings.

performance of the working length determination using cone beam computed tomography, radiography and electronic apex locator, in comparisons to actual length

conclusion the cbct may be safe to use in determining root canal wl. because lower radiation dose, a pre-existing cbct can be useful to detect the root canal wl more precisely. results the cbct was the most accurate method to evaluate the root canal wl, with accuracy of 70%. accuracy for the apex locator and periapical radiograph were 40% and 30%, respectively. materials and methods totally, 30...

Radiological assessment of periapical healing using the cone beam computed tomography periapical index: case report

Periapical radiography is essential in diagnosis, treatment planning and follow-up in endodontics. However, image interpretation can be confounded by geometric distortion, superimposition of regional anatomy and technique errors. These problems can be overcome by utilizing small or limited-volume cone beamcomputed tomography imaging techniques, which produce accurate 3-D images of the teeth and...

A new periapical index based on cone beam computed tomography.

The purpose of this study was to evaluate a new periapical index based on cone beam computed tomography (CBCT) for identification of apical periodontitis (AP). The periapical index proposed in this study (CBCTPAI) was developed on the basis of criteria established from measurements corresponding to periapical radiolucency interpreted on CBCT scans. Radiolucent images suggestive of periapical le...
